The best storm of the day started early - but gave a punch! 109km/h winds recorded at Gatton and some pretty mean structure!

The day started early with a rapidly rotating wall cloud near Caboolture. The storms then collected into a line and moved northwards through the Wide Bay region giving a great guster!

A very long day - chased for a good 8 hours (with storms), although for the first 6 hours it was very frustrating with storms not remaining organised for us until later when a lovely squall line developed!

It was the official start of the severe storm (and consequently chase season) on the 1st of October. So whenever I chase something worthwhile I'll be adding reports up hopefully within a day or two (commitments pending). I know that there's still a gap in the stormchase report archirve (from 03-07) from last year's site migration - I'm still trying to get around to doing all that! However there's plenty of recent reports - last year's 2008 to 2009 chase season was a doozie - so if you haven't checked them out, you might want to have a look! Also the photo galleries are mostly up to date, although I've got some scenery photos I will upload eventually from my trip to the Rocky Mountains in Canada earlier this year.
If you're new to the site, then I recommend having a look at the photo galleries if you're wondering why I storm chase. I think storms are absolutely beautiful, but I respect that they unfortunately cause damage. That's why I'm a volunteer storm spotter for the Bureau of Meteorology and also am partiticating in some storm research projects in my own time. Check out the music video compilations I made too - the 07-08 and 08-09 video compilations are actually samples of stormchase DVDs (which both contain many hours of storm footage) if you're interested. Also - all my photos are for sale should you wish to purchase any!
Also - I've discovered there's a problem with the email system on my site. So if you've sent me an email and I haven't replied - I apologise!!! Please use my
