Permission is normally granted for the following purposes:

- Educational purposes (ie university or school assignments and projects, university notes etc)

- Volunteer groups (ie, volunteer emergency groups, or non-profit organisations, charities etc)

- Private usage (eg desktop background, screensavers etc).  Unfortunately, I don't release non-watermarked images for these purposes.

Otherwise, I issue a small fee for using photographs (particularly for commercial usage or reports).  I don't make much money from chasing - I do it solely as a hobby.  But if I can get a small amount back to help with the rising costs of fuel, it will mean I can still keep on chasing.  When I first began chasing fuel was knocking 60c/L...now as fuel is now over double that, it means that chasing has become very expensive.  Combine that with camera equipment, car maitenance etc - it becomes a very expensive hobby!  I try and sell a few of my photos and video footage in an effort to keep chasing.
