Another day of storms was possible, but the winds were predominantly SE’ly which was going to be a problem…so I thought! Storms developed in the mid-afternoon, but in the wrong direction! Towards my SE, but fortunately they were moving to my NNW.
They looked quite weak initially, in fact I was barely paying any attention to them…until I looked out my window while working - #(#&^#^*#@^$&*@%*@#%#*!!! Updrafts were EXPLODING on the back end!!! Initially they were blocked by low cloud...but that soon clear! The updrafts were beautiful crisp and solid! We were actually getting 20 knot easterly outflow from the storm, even though it was a good 10-15km away. The storm brought down some trees about halfway between Rosewood and Grandchester. Fortunately for me the storm weakened after its initial (one severe pulse), as I was still stuck at work for another couple of hours!I
