Darling Downs/'Texas Panhandle' Chase, October 30, 2011
|
Had a nice little chase through the Northern Slopes of NSW ('Texas Panhandle') and the Darling Downs with a friend of ours (Justin Noonan), here's some photos - was some great video with some really spectacular lightning including a transformer blowing up in Warwick! Had plenty of small hail along with some very persistent winds of around 80-90km/h and torrential rain with flash flooding in both Warwick and Toowoomba.

Here's a few video captures...

Waiting in the fog and roadworks at Cunningham's Gap (flood damage roadworks).

What used to be bridges on the Bruxner Hwy between Tenterfield and Goondiwindi.

Lightning capture under a gust front.

Lovely convection and sunset colours over the Darling Downs.

Some spectacular lightning strikes!

Minor flash flooding in Warwick from heavy rain.

Minor flash flooding from East Creek Toowoomba.
