A rare winter storm chase!  Gave some nice funnels on the gust front as it passed through the bayside suburbs of Brisbane.
July 10, 2000
My first ever snow chase!  A bit of a novelty really since it never snows in Brisbane.
July 28, 2000
A tornadic squall line came through in the morning.  During this, I inadvertedly drove through a rain wrapped tornado on video!
October 14, 2000
A great midnight chase on the Gold Coast gave torrential rain, strong winds and some awesome flangs!  Followed by a beautiful sunset Cb the following day.
October 16-17, 2000
Two wall clouds and a funnel - a satisfying end after having some minor car troubles while watching a wall cloud pass by while I was at the service station!  Very interesting lowerings also, but impossible to tell their origin.
October 25, 2000
I videoed a tornado (non-supercellular) in the afternoon - everything collapsed after that, however a spectacular lightning show and gust front followed for many hours later that night!
October 26 - 27, 2000
I chased a fantastic HP supercell from Boonah to Ipswich, and also got some footage of a supercell about 80km west that lasted for eight hours!
November 3, 2000
Very impressive supercell split near Crows Nest - it produced a wall cloud and possible funnel, not to mention corkscrew updrafts and a fantastic meso!  Ending with another storm, that produced 3.5cm hail.
November 4, 2000
Beautiful twisting updraft, and a wallcloud from another storm - very nice!
November 5, 2000
The day started off cloudy, but soon cleared and gave a day of rather spectacular gustfronts and awesome updrafs!
November 6, 2000
This chase resulted in more than I barained for!  A friend of mine was up from Victoria, we chased what we thought would be an average thunderstorm, instead it produced brilliant CG bolts and we got slammed by 100km/h winds and 3cm hail!
December 12, 2000
Santa finally received my letter for storms!  We had three days of storms, a friend of mine and I were able to chase on Boxing Day.
December 25 - 27, 2000
This was a good day, I met up with a friend and we chased a thunderstorm complex interstate, and then watched it go further north, after finding 6 inch hail drifts and trees/sheds down!
January 8, 2001
Perhaps the best day of the season!  This phenomenal event gave several supercells, I sighted one tornado near Rathdowney, and an fantasmagorical lightning show that lasted all night, with cricket ball hail falling at 4am in the morning, and severe hailstorms coming through at 7am!
January 17 - 18, 2001
An informal technical report and review of the above event, outlining some of the main features that created this event!
January 17 - 20, 2001
An inland heat trough gave an afternoon of storms - nbthing spectacular except for strong rotation near Boonah - possibly from being directly under a funnel!
January 27, 2001
Today was better than the previous, some slow moving severe thunderstorms gave some flash flooding (which I found out about the hard way), and a nice little guster in the Brisbane Valley.
January 28, 2001
Phenomenal flooding from torrential rain, up to 300mm (12 inches) in 2-3 hours!!!  I got caught up in the 'mess' coming back from uni.
March 9, 2001
Absolutely spectacular gustfront!  I couldn't believe my eyes, also complimented with a nice lightning show afterwards!
March 12, 2001
Some nice thunderstorms developed and moved over the Redcliffe area.  Several storms actually moved over Redcliffe, one producing a nice wall cloud, and some very nice twisting updrafts!
March 18, 2001
Very nice wall cloud and a small mid-level funnel from this chase in the Downs!  Afterwards I got slammed by a strong microburst, before staying the night in the Downs and chasing the next day, but storms formed too early - so they just pulsed.
April 26 - 27, 2001
An upper level low with some surface moisture gave a day of storms on the ranges.  Including one hailstorm that gave a funnel cloud, and some brilliant rainbows.
May 6, 2001
A trough gave some unseasonal thunderstorms!  With yet another funnel, trees down and one foot haildrifts!
