Day 13, Gladstone-Monto

InAfter three long (and great!) days of chasing we were quite tired and understandably weren’t too enthusiastic about traveling half the country to get more storms.  We discussed the situation together and also talked to Matt Pearce who suggested the Downs would be the go but the storms would not be overly great.  We decided to head to Biloela and check the situation also (we had to goto Biloela regardless anyway if we were to go into the Downs).  It was quite hot and humid with temperatures in the low 30s and DPs in the mid 20s – very oppressive!  Because we were tired we didn’t want to go too far so we decided to hang back around the Monto area (ranges south of Biloela).  We had a look around and then found a little place to watch the sky near the airport.  We were constantly teased by large Cu, but nothing eventuated.  We wanted to find a place with a pool though that afternoon…so we booked into Monto and relaxed in the pool for the remainder of the afternoon before watching storm footage that evening.
