The Australian Severe Weather Association is a volunteer group.  The aims include:

- The reporting and documenting of severe weather.  This includes working with the Bureau of Meteorology to collate storm information and reports.

- The education of severe weather, both to the public and other interest groups (SES, outdoor clubs etc).

- To provide a platform for discussion of severe weather events (thunderstorms, tropical cyclones and general weather!)

There are meetings held in most capital cities every 1-2 months.  For more information, see the ASWA website.
